Early Symptoms of HIV

HIV is a life threatening virus that affects our immune system making us weak and non-resistant to diseases. Though treating HIV is a great challenge, if detected in the early state, doctors can take measures to ensure that the condition doesn’t get worse. It is your responsibility to undertake HIV testing, not only for your own sake but for the sake of your near and dear ones. If you are not aware that you are a HIV affected person you can not prevent this virus to spread and attack your loved ones.

Early Symptoms of HIV

The early symptoms of HIV indicate that you should see a doctor. These symptoms are quite similar to the symptoms of viral illness. Hence there is nothing to get afraid about it. Still if you notice any of the following symptoms, it is advised that you consult a doctor.

Headache: Headache is the most common HIV symptoms. If you suffer from headache frequently or if you have severe headache that lasts for 2 to 4 weeks, it can be a serious concern. Severe headache can affect your sleeping practice and cause mood change.

Swollen Glands: Another early symptom of HIV is swollen gland in your neck, genital areas or armpit. If the swollen gland persists for a few weeks, you should see a doctor without any delay.

Fever: If you are having persistent mild fever, it can be considered to be a HIV symptom. This symptom can return at later stages of HIV.

Diarrhea: If you are suffering from diarrhea for more than one week and if it is not accompanied by abdominal cramping or vomiting, then you can consider it to be an early sign of HIV.

Tiredness: If you feel tired all the time and sleep more than you usually do, it can indicate that you are affected by HIV. Many people tend to ignore this symptom thinking that it is caused by work or their daily schedule. However it is advised that you consult a doctor if you feel tired for a long stretch of time even after taking adequate rest.

Rashes: If you have rashes in your mouth or on your skin along with flusing of the face, you may be its time for a  HIV Test.

Sore Throat: Redness or soreness of your throat may also indicate the presence of HIV virus in your body.

If you have any of these symptoms, you should consult a doctor immediately. If you want to safeguard your privacy, you can get tested using a HIV home testing kit. These kits are available at your nearby Gum Clinic. However the best thing to do is to count on a doctor.
